At first, I couldn't decide between the two shades they had because they looked almost alike on me (Even the sales assistant was baffled!) but Ochre seemed to match my skin tone better after it had spent an hour on my face. In fact, if I could only have one item in my everyday vanity kit, I'd choose Fairydrops' Candy Bar BB Cream. I guess my boyfriend liked how it looked on me though because he decided to get it for me in Beauty Bar-Eastwood! Yay for little, random surprises!Īfter about two weeks of using it, I can say it's one product I probably won't be without for quite a while. The price difference isn't nominally huge but I knew right away that I wanted to use it a lot so getting more than one tube at a much lower price seemed to make better sense, even if it means waiting. My boyfriend's going to be in Tokyo this December so I figured I could have him pick up a few tubes for me. I tried it on and it was love at first application! It evened out my skin tone and had better coverage than my Missha BB Cream without feeling heavy at all! Best of all, I had an exact match! I walked around with it on for a couple of hours and it didn't budge at all too! I was hesitant to buy it though because I didn't really need it and I realized that it's more expensive by about thirty percent here than it is in Japan (I'm guessing customs and VAT has something to do with that. A quick Google search yielded numerous favorable reviews. I asked about it because its packaging was so pretty. This made me willing to try Fairydrops' Candy Bar BB Cream despite it being SPF-free.

Three light to medium shades available.Įtude House Sun BB Cream, Etude House BBdation, Skintangible, Fairydrops, Laneige Snow BB CreamĪnd that's it.The summer heat, however, has gotten worse so I no longer venture out as much. And this has SPF if you're looking for something specifically to be worn during the day.īest for: pore issues, brightening, dry to combination skin. It gives this poreless, polished finish - more on the satin end compared to Fairydrops demi-matte. Three l ight to medium shades available.Įtude House Precious Mineral BBdation SPF40 is similar to my favorite liquid foundation, the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow. Really useful if you're super oily and always out in the sun! It's perfect with the Precious Mineral Sun BB Pact (also with SPF) come retouching time.īest for: physically active people who need coverage, oily skin. It's what I consider to be a heavy-duty face base. The Etude House Precious Mineral Sun BB Cream is sweat and oil resistant, has SPF50, and medium/heavy, matte coverage. Very ideal in our weather although you would need a separate moisturizer if you're dry.īest for: travel junkies, busy bees who don't have time for brushes and too much blending, combination skin. As for the texture, it's ultra light, almost watery. The SPF50 also doesn't hurt if you're lazy. It's sheer like Skintangible but Snow BB has a buildable coverage (which the latter doesn't). It comes in a compact with a sponge that actually applies the product well. I love the Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion SPF50 mostly for the convenience it offers. One shade only, best for medium to medium dark tones. So, if you've lost hope on BB creams for your morena skin, you have to check this one out.īest for: morenas, dry to combination skin, super natural skin finish. It's perfect for the "no makeup makeup" look - I've demonstrated this product to that effect! The sheerness and neutral color of Skintangible makes it friendly to darker skintones. Light to medium range only (two shades).Īlmost invisible yet quite illuminating, the VMV Hypoallergenics Skintangible SPF30 enhances the skin with just the slightest hint of tint. It's not a big hassle for me to just use my preferred SPF moisturizer/base if I am going out in daylight.īest for: girls with oily skin, who need a photo-ready face base. At least this product can be worn pretty much any time during the 24-hour day. It's definitely something I would buy when I run out!Ī lot of people don't like that this doesn't have SPF - it's unheard of for a BB cream to have no SPF! - but for me that feature is a boon. It stays put, matches my skin perfectly (luckily), and has such a flawless, photogenic finish. The Fairydrops Candy Bar BB Cream is hands down my favorite BB cream ever. That notwithstanding the formula of these BB creams are amazing! Here's why I highly recommend them.

Now three of the BB creams featured here are too light on me, but that's because I didn't get the chance to choose the right shade.

Well, the shade selection is still limited but if you fall in the fair to medium range then you shouldn't have any trouble. No longer are they thick and unwieldy, they're now more comfortable in humid weather, with a more perfecting finish. I've said it before and I'll say it again: BB creams have come a long way.
